Yeah, I think this was really a one-time drop off. Since we usually end up with 6-7 people and we had 3 who either couldn't do it or would have to take a break at some point for a few minutes, that sorta brought about the cancellation.
I think I'm still going to try to sneak out of work early and get some driving around in before I have to make enchiladas for the wife later. |

Just had a romp at the Glen in the Stang before bed. Tons of fun, much more so than Laguna Seca
. I'm kinda struggling with that combo.Anyway, was a fun race, but I didn't qualify, and was content putzing around at the back to get some much needed SR. Unfortunately I only got .08 because of a spin (which needed a tow) and couple of two tires off. Ended up with fastest lap, but a lap down in like 14 or something. Can someone clarify towing a bit for me? I figured since I was right near the pits, I'd just drive in and get fixed, but there was no damage fixing, so I exited the car, and it was like a 3 minute wait. Would it have been a shorter wait if I just pressed tow right before pit in?

Time will be as discussed earlier in the thread: 8:00 PM EDT - 1 hour Practice 9:00 PM EDT - 20 Minute Open Qualifying 9:20 PM EDT - Race, 20-25 laps depending on venue. Should be done by 10 PM EDT.

Woot...I missed the first Laguna Seca race, so that won't be a repeat for me, I have no problem with LS. I also don't mind VIR, though I haven't done any practice there at all yet, so I might be more off the pace than I would normally be, I've gotten precious little practice in the Mustang.

Yeah, all my Mustang practice has been at Laguna, so let's do it there.

Heh...it's funny because after a session, I will review the laps to check how consistent my line is, and I find myself frequently thinking, "Wow...I had more room there than I thought."

Just missed out tonight. Was over a friends and left a little later than I wanted, but still enough to make it, until I hit bumper to bumper traffic.
Hope it was fun!

Sorry about that Ed, I was talking to you at the end and the sim crashed. Better then than while I was drive though.
![]() Had an okay night. I actually ran a 1:43 in there but I came across the line with some server lag and it didn't count it. ![]() There is a lot more time out there but I can't get it. I love the Mustang but LS is just so 'small' with this car for some reason. That sucks Russ.

It was a light field...would have enjoyed having you.
Surprisingly I dropped into the 1:41's and 1:42's after running no better then 1:45 all week ![]() I had a lot of offs, including 3 or 4 furled Black Flags at the damned Corkscrew... ![]() All in all, still a good time, as always. ![]()

Thanks for the race Ed. I had a good time trying to keep Brian in my sights for the first half of the race until I got sideways out of turn 10 and hit the wall. I was actually besting my qualifying lap pushing so hard to keep within a Brian mistake of 1st. I knew it would be hard to keep that up for 20 laps.
Hope we get more people next week. Still fun though!

Good times, definitely. I'm having a harder time with the new transmission than I thought, I felt like I lost at least half a second a lap just from slower upshifts. Managed to get down into the 1:39's though, which made me happy. I'm just trying to figure that out in the race, I had one 1:39, a 1:39.4. Nothing else below 1:40. And the 1:39.4 didn't even feel like a fast lap. *shrug*

Man, it'd be great to have you, nd
![]() We are running hosted sessions, so your license is irrelevant. Right now, we're running the Mustang, which requires an additional purchase, but we have run the Solstice as well, which you get with the initial signup. Give it a go and see how you like it...it's quite addicting.

When you register, enter the iRacing name of one of us in the Referred By field, and whomever you name gets a $10 iRacing referral credit, which can be used for Hosted Sessions.

Let's start thinking about this week's race guys, so we can get some track/car combo practice in...
Pariah will be MIA again, but now that John has joined (and added $10 to the Hosted Race coffers ), shall we do another rookie race?I watched an awesome set of Week 13 races yesterday - Spec Ford @ Summit Jefferson Reverse. What do you say? Or, as an alternative, Multiclass (both Solstices, SRF, both Legends - your choice) at the Charlotte Road Course? Just trying to find a combo that the new guy can join us with ![]()

I actually ran the Solstice using the clutch for the first time this weekend, went better than I'd hoped. I can heel-toe all day long in my real car, but I really had a hard time with the game. I don't know if something clicked or if the new transmission model did it, but suddenly I had a great run doing actual shifting. So I'm absolutely down with using the Solstice again or frankly any car, it's like a whole new thing playing with the third pedal.
